Situated in Lisbon, Portugal, Galeria Belo-Galsterer believes in multicultural diversity, therefore we work together with artists of different origins, and different generations, to present them to the Portuguese and international art scene, to its collectors and institutions. The artists represented by Belo-Galsterer, show a great interest in exploring the values of contemporary society by using a wide range of expressions, from drawing to sculpture, from installation to video, approaching themes that reflect as well on their diverse cultural heritage.
The gallery presents exhibitions of high quality marked by its internationally positioned artists. Furthermore, this gallery is marked by its strong relation to Northern Europe, fostering especially the exchange between the gallery’s artists and German galleries, institutions, collectors and artists.
We believe in curated exhibitions, as we think they are a special form of mediation between art and the public.
Complementary, the gallery also invests in the areas of education (workshops, seminaries and guided tours), as well as personal consultancy and art advisory for collectors and collectors in the making.
The gallery’s facilities are located right in the heart of the city centre, at Rua Castilho, nearby Marques de Pombal square, as this street is in the middle of Lisbon’s business district, with most of its banks, hotels and the flagship stores of luxury brands, as well as you can find important cultural institutions in its proximity.
The gallery itself has been established within an old 300sqm apartment, in the first floor of an art-deco multi-storeyed building from the 1940s; with it solid construction, high ceilings, and wooden floors, the gallery space is not your typical white cube.
Galeria Belo-Galsterer was founded 2012, in Lisbon, Portugal.
